Emmanuel Mahembe, a 37-year-old man from Shurugwi, has been convicted of m_rdering two girlfriends in 2021 and ste@ling their vehicles.
According to media reports, the High Court in Gweru found him guilty of luring unsuspecting women into relationships before k!lling them. In one incident, Mahembe met his 37-year-old victim at Donga, Chachacha Business Centre in Shurugwi, and they drove to Dhanga dip tank, where he m_rdered her.
He then buried her body along the Gwamamvura Riverbed and sold her Honda Fit [1). In another incident, Mahembe k!lled his 35-year-old girlfriend after a disagreement over money while driving to her sister’s home in Shurugwi.
He dumped her body in a disused mine shaft at Mutevekwi Bridge and impersonated her to scam her son into sending money to her Ecocash account, which he used for personal gain.
He also continued using her Honda Fit [1). Mahembe’s crimes were exposed when the slain woman’s relatives grew suspicious and alerted the police, leading to his arrest.
