Pastor Lebraity Makuni, a 28-year-old spiritual leader of the Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe’s Praise and Worship Centre Assembly, was the victim of a brutal robbery at his Chitungwiza residence.
According to reports, in the de@d of night, around midnight, three masked robbers forcibly gained entry into his home by breaking down the kitchen door with an iron bar.
They then stormed into Pastor Makuni’s bedroom, where he was asleep, and subjected him to a terrifying ordeal.
The robbers manhandled him, gagged him with cotton wool, and bound his hands with a computer cable.
They repeatedly ass@ulted him, demanding cash and valuables. The thieves ransacked the house, making off with $300 in cash, which was hidden under the mattress, and a Tecno cellphone.
After fleeing the scene, Pastor Makuni managed to seek help from a neighbor, who freed him from his restraints and removed the gag.
Although he didn’t have visible !njuries, Pastor Makuni was rushed to the hospital, complaining of severe pain in his left side ribs, right shoulder, right thigh, and lower right limb.
According to Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, the total value of the stolen items was $7,500.
