A woman’s home was allegedly broken into by a robber who did odd jobs including cooking, cleaning, and drying washing. According to NDTV, the crime happened on July 16 in Monmouthshire, Wales.
He also left a note that read, “Don’t worry, be happy, eat up and scratch,” so these strange acts for a home theft weren’t his last. Not surprise, the owner of the broken-in residence did not find the robber’s activities amusing. The thief will now serve the next 22 months in jail for the non-traditional offense.
“Until he was apprehended two weeks after the crime, I was experiencing elevated anxiety beyond anything I had ever experienced before. I pondered whether it would be someone who knew me.
“Two weeks after the crime until he was caught, I was living in a state of heightened anxiety I had never experienced before. I wondered if it was somebody who knew me, if it was going to turn into a stalking incident, if he knew I lived alone and if I had been targeted,” said the home owner in a statement.
She mentioned that she stayed with a friend since she was too afraid to stay in her own house. The thief broke into a different residence again on July 29.
This time, though, he was caught after the owner of the property got a CCTV notification on his phone, which showed the man strolling down his driveway.
The thief was found to be inebriated and holding a drink when the homeowner called his son-in-law to examine the property.
