In Mutare, a 35-year-old man was sentenced to jail after being found guilty of r_ping his 15-year-old neighbour, an incident that unfolded on August 30, 2024.
Seeking the complainant’s brother, he found her and her younger sibling home alone and offered them juice laced with a substance that caused them to feel dizzy.
After leaving momentarily, he returned with sinister intent, forcefully attempting to grab the complainant by the hand. When she escaped to her parents’ b3droom, he followed her, silencing her cries with a pillow before proceeding to remove her clothes and s3xually as$ault her.
The ass@ult ended abruptly when the sound of her father’s approaching motorbike startled him, prompting him to flee through the window, leaving behind his shirt, shorts, and leather jacket.
In a twisted turn of events, he later accused the complainant and her brother of stealing his belongings, including his mobile phone, casting suspicion on the victims.
Unfortunately, the complainant’s father initially believed the accused’s narrative, leading to an @ssault on her; however, she eventually found refuge with her mother, who was attending a funeral, and disclosed the horrific ordeal.
A police report was subsequently filed, culminating in the apprehension of the accused and ensuring justice for the young victim.
