A 24-year-old Chivi man was arrested for r0bbing and r@ping a 25-year-old woman three times in front of her son.
Walter Ngwenya (24) of Bhenjani Village, under Chief Shindi, Chivi, broke into the victim’s house (name withheld) with a log while the complainant was sleeping.
Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa, Masvingo Police Spokesperson, verified the horrible incident, which took place on June 29 at around 11.30pm.
According to reports, he claimed that while inside the house, Ngwenya lighted his torch and demanded money from the complainant before repeatedly striking her on the head with a log.

The complainant and her son were able to escape through the window after the monster went outside to relieve himself.
However, Ngwenya reportedly took three cellphones, which were recovered after his arrest at his home based on the complainant’s descriptions of his body marks from the scuffle.
Ngwenya is scheduled to appear in court in due course.
