Sinawo Musa Zenani, 26, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the gruesome murder of his girlfriend, Lusanda Sikisi, 27, in her apartment.
The court also convicted Zenani of vi0lating a protection order, which was granted to Sikisi two months prior to her de@th, and sentenced him to an additional five years imprisonment, to run concurrently with his life sentence.
The trial revealed a history of vi0lence in the relationship, leading Sikisi to secure the protection order. Despite this, Zenani arrived at her residence, forced his way in, and brutally st@bbed her 55 times.
He then calmly told neighbors, “I finished her,” before fleeing the scene. Zenani pleaded not guilty and claimed temporary insanity due to anger, but the court rejected this defense.
The sentencing brings closure to Sikisi’s family, including her orphaned daughter, who had previously lost her father in a sh00tout.
The Director of Public Prosecutions welcomed the sentence, ensuring justice for the victim and her loved ones.
