A Plumtree man, Mhlalisi Ngwenya, has been arrested for stoning a woman after she rejected his advances.
The incident occurred in May when Ngwenya proposed love to Future Ndebele, who declined his offer. Despite the rejection, Ngwenya persisted with his advances.
On October 7, 2023, Ngwenya again approached Ndebele with his proposal. When she refused once more, he reacted violently, stoning her on the leg.
In addition to the assault charge, Ngwenya is also facing theft charges for stealing a speaker from a local bar.
He appeared before Magistrate Joshua Nembaware and was granted $30 bail. His trial is scheduled for November 28, 2023.
