A 29-year-old man appeared before Chivhu Magistrate Court facing charges of unlawful possession of dagga. The man identified as Leonard Mutsambi.
Mutsambi was arrested on Thursday last week following the deployment of Zimbabwe Republic Police members at the 103 kilometre peg along Harare-Masvingo for a security roadblock.
Leonard Mutsambi was a passenger in a private vehicle which was heading to Harare from Beitbridge with over 250 grammes of dagga. Following his arrest, Mutsambi appear before Chivhu Magistrate where he was found guilty and ordered to perform 210 hours community service.
In a statement seen by newsreportzim.com, the Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed that: On 29/02/24 members of the Police deployed at the 103 kilometre peg along Harare-Masvingo Road for a security roadblock arrested Leonard Mutsambi (29) for unlawful possession of 255 grammes of dagga.
The suspect was a passenger in a Toyota Vitz vehicle which was coming from Beitbridge to Harare. The suspect appeared before Chivhu Magistrate Court where he was convicted and sentenced to perform 210 hours community service.
