California police subjected Thomas Perez Jr. to a grueling 17-hour interrogation, accusing him of k!lling his father, Thomas Perez jr., who was @live.
Footage from the interrogation shows Perez Jr. crying, pull!ng out his hair, tearing off his shirt, and lying next to his dog, whom officers thre@tened to euth@nize.
Detectives repeatedly told him his father was de@d and even brought his dog into the room, threatening to put the dog down if he did not confess.

Under immense str3ss and c0ercion, Perez Jr. eventually broke down and f@lsely confessed to the crime. In reality, his father was @live and well, unaware of the situation, and later contacted the police to clarify his whereabouts.
This case resulted in a lawsuit against the City of Fontana for psychological torture, which was settled for nearly $900,000.
