Today’s trip to Everton will see Luke Shaw make his long-awaited return to the Manchester United squad. The England defender returned to training in the week after recovering from a muscle injury that has ruled him out of action since August.
That will be a major relief for United, who have had to improvise at left-back during the season so far. Fellow full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is also fit after missing the win over Luton due to illness.
Goalkeeper Andre Onana has been passed fit for the trip to Goodison Park. The Cameroon international was forced off with a groin issue while representing his country last weekend and duly flew back to Manchester.
There are, however, concerns about Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen after they pulled out of the Denmark squad who lost to Northern Ireland and beat Slovenia.
Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Hojlund is in with a chance of featuring amid a late fitness test but Eriksen “will take a little longer” on his return from a knee issue sustained when beating the Hatters.
Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez and Jonny Evans are not expected to play in a game in which United will need to match a white-hot atmosphere.
It is the first time that Everton have played since their ten-point deduction from the Premier League for breaching financial regulations and fans are expected to protest.
United also remain without Tyrell Malacia and Amad Diallo, while Facundo Pellistri picked up a knock while away with Uruguay. Jadon Sancho is still unavailable whereas Mason Mount has suffered a fresh calf injury, ruling him out for potentially a month.
