The Manhize steel plant project which was scheduled to begin operations early this year, has successfully passed all the test runs and is officially ready for operations.
In a retweet, Permanent secretary Nick Mangwana re-confirmed the success of the test runs and these included; Thermal power station, Blast furnace, Sintering plant, Limestone plant,Oxygen plant and the Electricity sub station.
The Manhize Steel Plant Project, located in Manhize village, Chirumanzu district of Midlands province began early in 2022 and is so far considered the largest steel production in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The completion of work on the project is being credited to Dinson Iron and Steel Company (DISCO) which is a subsidiary of the Chinese giant steel producer Tshishang Holdings Group.
