A Harare man has been allegedly caught stealing a cash box from a restaurant where he had only just begun his training as a barista.
Reports say Tonderai Goredema, just four days into his barista training, managed to swipe a cash box containing approximately US$1,000 from the establishment.
This cash box was securely stored in a cupboard located in the front office.

According to the restaurant owners, Tonderai observed the cashier counting the float before her shift. When she stepped out to assist with preparations, he seized the moment to snatch the cash box and fled the scene.
CCTV footage captured Tonderai making a hasty exit, even leaving his phone behind in his rush to escape. The incident can be viewed in the footage below:
The restaurant owner took to X (formerly Twitter), appealing for information through a post shared by Crime Watch Zimbabwe. Following this, many Zimbabweans flocked to the comments section with their reactions.
Some expressed disbelief that Tonderai would risk so much for what they deemed a small amount of money, while others suggested the restaurant owners offer a bounty for his capture.
