A 26-year-old man who allegedly k!lled his girlfriend in Marondera will not face the consequences of his action.
Instead, fate dealt a different hand, and he met his end at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital in Mutare on a Wednesday night.
Echfel Musaida Gora allegedly st@bbed his girlfriend, Sharon Mashowo (29), to de@th with an okapi knife last Thursday after a misunderstanding in Nyameni, Marondera. After the fatal act, he locked her in his room and left, leaving her to bl33d to de@th. Her lifeless body was discovered with the Okapi knife lodged in the back of her head.
Gora fled to Odzi where he attempted to end his own life by ingesting an unknown po!sonous substance on Sunday.
He was rushed to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital where he was positively identified and arrested on Monday while being admitted. At the time, police said Gora’s condition was stable but his health rapidly deteriorated resulting in his eventual demise.
Before his de@th, Gora had made his initial court appearance from his hospital bed. He was facing a m_rder charge.
In a chat withSource, Manicaland’s acting provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, confirmed Gora’s de@th. He noted that they are awaiting post-mortem results to determine the cause of de@th.
“We have been informed that he (Gora) died yesterday evening. We are awaiting post-mortem results,” said Ass Insp Chinyoka.
In a separate chilling incident, another young life was lost in Nyameni, Marondera, marking a disturbing pattern. Her body was discovered in the same location where another girl’s lifeless body was discovered just a month prior.
