Olympique de Marseille, a French football club, has expressed interest in English professional footballer Mason Greenwood, who plays as a striker for Manchester United.
According to Fabrizio Romano’s latest updates, the French club has submitted a formal bid to Manchester United for the young and talented striker.
“Understand Olympique Marseille have sent a formal bid to Manchester United for Mason Greenwood! Talks are underway between the two clubs, and Greenwood remains OM’s main target with an agreement getting closer,” the update reads.
Manchester United is open to a loan with an obligation to buy, including a sell-on clause.
Mason Greenwood was made available for transfer after Manchester United confirmed in August that they had abandoned plans to reintegrate him into their first-team squad.
Last September, the striker joined La Liga club Getafe on a season-long loan, where he scored 10 goals and provided 8 assists in 35 appearances.
Currently, a move to Marseille could see Greenwood work under former Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Roberto De Zerbi, who was recently appointed as Marseille’s new manager.
