In a disturbing incident, a father from Mathabiswana Village in the Insuza area, Matabeleland North province pulled an R Kelly on his 16-year-old daughter and turned her into a tlof tlof slave. The father penetrated his daughter’s rear on three separate occasions.
The father, whose identity is being kept a secret to protect the minor girl, appeared before Bulawayo regional magistrate Collet Ncube. He faces three charges of r@pe and was remanded in custody until November 7. During the hearing, the father was asked not to enter a plea.
The court heard that the accused summoned his daughter to his bedroom at an unspecified date in April of this year.
Once there, he proceeded to accuse her of having a boyfriend and began assaulting her with a rope, inflicting injuries all over her body. He then forced his daughter to undress and allegedly penetrated her rear.
After committing this abhorrent act, the father threatened his daughter, coercing her into silence regarding the incident and warning her not to disclose the matter to her mother. He left her in his bedroom while he got dressed, and she later followed him to the kitchen.
In another incident occurring in August, the accused once again summoned his daughter to his bedroom without any apparent reason. He proceeded to physically assault her by punching her, undressing her, and allegedly penetrating her rear again.
In yet another disturbing occurrence in October, the accused employed the modus operandi, before subjecting his daughter to abuse within the confines of his bedroom.
The shocking truth came to light on October 15 when the girl and her mother attended a church service. The pastor, claiming to have received guidance from the Holy Spirit, approached the mother and expressed concern about something weighing heavily on her daughter.
Prompted by this encounter, the victim’s mother questioned her daughter, who bravely opened up about the incidents, revealing that her father had violated her on three separate occasions.
Following the disclosure, the matter was reported to the police, leading to the arrest of the accused. The victim received medical attention at St Luke’s Hospital for medical examination.
