MUTARE –The body of a six-year-old Birchenough Bridge girl who went missing on Thursday last week was found decomposing on Sunday.
Manicaland Police Spokesperson Inspector Nobert Muzondo confirmed the mater to Chipinge Times. He said they are not suspecting foul play.
He said the body of Miracle Matake (6) of Nendanga Village, Chief Chamutsa in Birchenough Bridge was found a kilometer away from where she went missing.
Circumstances are that on the day, there was a road accident near Miracle’s family shop around 9 pm.
She went to the scene with her older brother (12). That was the last that anyone saw her.
Her mother, Fungai Matake (40) failed to find her. She launched a search part with neighbours and could not find Miracle.
A missing person report was filed at Nyanyadzi Police Station.
Her body was found by Marian Madoro (26) of Tama Village was looking for termite mount (mujuru) adjacent to the Birchenough Bridge Vehicle Examination Department (VED) weigh-bridge.
Madoro noticed a swarm of flies hovering around the area. She went for a closer look and saw the minor’s decomposing body. A Police report was filed.
