President Mnangagwa has left the country for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he will join other African leaders for the 38th Ordinary Session of the African Union summit which will tackle political, economic and social issues affecting the continent.
The President was seen off at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport accampanied by his two deputies, Vice Presidents Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi, Government Ministers, Service Chiefs and senior Government officials.

“H.E President Emmerson Mnangagwa has left for Ethiopia to attend the 38th Ordinary Session of the African Union Summit. The Summit will see Angolan President, H.E Joao Manuel Lourenco, take over the AU Chairmanship from the Islamic Republic of Mauritania,” Nick posted.
During his absence, President Mnangagwa appointed his second Vice President Hon KCD Mohadi as the Acting President until His Excellency the President’s return from Addis Ababa.
The 38th Ordinary Session of the AU Summit is being held under the theme “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent through Reparations.”
This year’s AU Summit will also see the election of new AU Commission leadership. Candidates contesting for the Chairperson position currently held by Moussa Faki Mahamat, include Mahmoud Ali Youssouf of Djibouti, Raila Odinga of Kenya and Richard Randriaamandrato of Madagascar.
