President Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived at the New Parliament Building in Mt Hampden to officially open the 32nd Junior Parliament of Zimbabwe.
The event is themed “Education for all children in Africa. The time is now.”
This occasion brings together young leaders from across the country to discuss and find solutions to some of the pressing challenges facing Zimbabwe’s education sector.
The Junior Parliament, which is a resemblance of the real Parliament of Zimbabwe, provides a platform for schoolchildren to learn about governance, leadership, and democratic processes.
The program is designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to become responsible and active citizens.
The 32nd Junior Parliament of Zimbabwe is sponsored by various organisations, including the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), and several corporate entities.
The President’s attendance at the event will boost this initiative, which is expected to inspire young people to take an active role in promoting education in their communities.
