President Mnangagwa will today, 22 July, preside over the burial of the late national hero Brigadier -General (Retired) Michael Chaminuka at the National Heroes Acre in Harare.
The body of Brigadier -General (Rtd) Chaminuka arrived yesterday at Manyame Airbase in Harare from his rural home in Hurungwe.
Cde Chaminuka d!ed on Saturday 13th of July after a short illness. He was declared a national hero by His Excellency Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa
Brigadier -General (Rtd) Chaminuka joined the liberation struggle in 1977 at the age of 17. Chaminuka with his five colleagues crossed into Mozambique for military training.
After Zimbabwe gained independence in 1980, Cde Chaminuka selected to join the Zimbabwe National Army.
During his spell in the Zimbabwe National Army, Cde Michael Chaminuka held several appointments such as director Military intelligence at Army Headquarters.
He survived by his wife Lilian and five children.
