Glen View South MP, Happymore ‘Bvondo’ Chidziva, who faces rape charges for s3xually ab_sing an underage girl, has been granted bail of USD 500.
According to Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) through X, Glen View North Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislator, Happymore Chidziva, popularly known as ‘Bvondo,’ was arrested and charged with r@pe in August. He was uaccused of r@ping a 16-year-old girl.
Chidziva was taken to Budiriro Police Station after the minor was reported missing. The new r@p3 charge, registered at Harare Central Police Station, details the events leading to Chidziva’s alleged criminal conduct, according to court documents.
Reports indicate that tests conducted at the adult r@pe clinic at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare on the alleged victim were described as “scary.”
One of Harare’s well-known establishments, the Jameson Hotel on Samora Machel Avenue, is listed as one of the locations where the r@p3 allegedly occurred, according to court papers.
The minor was reported missing by her family after she was last seen in the company of the MP. The family filed a missing person’s report, accusing a Citizens Coalition for Change MP of “hiding” the 16-year-old girl. Chidziva had allegedly promised to help her find a job.
“She has been gone for almost two weeks. We suspect he is hiding her somewhere,” the alleged victim’s aunt told a local online media outlet recently.
The girl’s family suspected the MP was having an affair with the teenager, which is illegal under Zimbabwean law, as the age of consent for s3xual relations is set at 18 years.
