A new suspect has been charged with murder in the beating to death of a suspected thief in Mabvuku.
Anymore Gora appeared before magistrate Munashe Chibanda, who granted him $600 000 bail.
His accomplices, Fradreck Nhata and Forget Zhakata, appeared in the same court last week.
The court heard that on May 12, the three and others still at large assaulted the now deceased with baton sticks and sjamboks, accusing him of trespassing.
They are said to have left the man for dead on a foot path, but he managed to drag himself to a nearby house where sought help.
The house owner found the man dead in his verandah the following morning and reported to the police.
A post-mortem was conducted on the man’s remains on May 16 and the pathologist concluded that the cause of death was traumatic shock, extensive subatanons and intra muscular haemorrhage due to the alleged assault.
The police received information linking the men to the suspected thief’s death and arrested them.
