A Bulawayo Kombi crew showed up in court yesterday on charges of abducting a 23-year-old woman and taking her out of town, where they reportedly thre@tened and physically abu-sed her for allegedly ste@ling a cellphone.
The woman allegedly st0le the cellphone as she got into their car, according to two Bupta employees from the Queens Park West area, Ntandoyenkosi Ndlovu (35), and Proud Mpofu (20). The State claims that the two abducted Ms. Nokunqoba Nwane and took her to a suburb of Woodville, where they thre@tened her.
Both Mpofu and Ndlovu refuted the accusations, claiming that the complainant had already entered their car and taken Mpofu’s cell phone.

Mrs. Dambudzo Malunga, a regional magistrate, presided over the trial, which was postponed until today in order to continue. According to prosecutor Mr. Owen Mugari, the incident happened on November 18 at approximately 4 p.m. on 1st Avenue, across from Bulawayo Prison.
Mr. Mugari clarified that without the complainant’s permission, the accused drove her to Woodville and returned to town after forcing her to get out of another car she was in and into theirs.
When the complainant tried to disembark on the way back from Woodville, they pulled her back inside and struck her with the door on her left side of the back.
Ndlovu and Mpofu were arrested after the complainant, who was able to flee, reported the incident to the police, the court heard.
