Businessman Shingi Mutasa, speaking at the Trevor African gala held yesterday, commended the military for its intervention in 2017, highlighting the demonstration of military power.
He acknowledged the military’s role as a representation of Zimbabwe’s strength and emphasised his support for their actions, despite the public demonstrations during that time.
“The prevailing narrative tends to focus on negativity.
However, these actions were successful due to strategic planning, intellectual prowess, and discipline.

The military intervention in 2017 resulted in the resignation of former President Robert Mugabe and the subsequent inauguration of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
