Mutsvangwa Urged The Electorate To Vote For President Mnangagwa

Minister Mutsvangwa in PR nightmare, at pains to explain govt’s policies

Zanu-PF Women’s League national secretary for administration, Monica Mutsvangwa’s campaign trail last week saw her addressing three oversubscribed rallies in Manicaland where she urged the electorate to vote for President Mnangagwa and the revolutionary party to ensure the country’s continued prosperity.

Mutsvangwa’s campaign trail started in Headlands last week on Wednesday, before she moved to Clearwater in Chipinge on Thursday. On Friday, Mutsvangwa was at Masasa Business Centre in Buhera Central.

At all the rallies, she highlighted the development trajectory that the Second Republic has taken to ensure the attainment of Vision 2030.

Speaking at Nehumba Primary School in Mufusire Village where she was drumming up support for Zanu-PF Parliamentary candidate, Farai Mapfumo and local authority candidates, Mutsvangwa said the Second Republic has notable key projects that were done in Headlands, include the gigantic Muchekeranwa Dam, road rehabilitation, solarised boreholes and free inputs distribution, among others.

“The Second Republic is performing wonders countrywide because it has the people at heart. A number of key projects have been completed and citizens’ lives have been tremendously changed.

From agriculture, water infrastructure, electricity generation and roads construction, these are some of the works done by Government within a very short period.

“Government is soldiering on despite the economic sanctions imposed on the country. The re-engagement and engagement efforts are bearing fruit as most of the countries are now warming up to the Zanu-PF-led Government.

Western countries are slowly closing their doors on the opposition leaders because they are fed-up with their lack of direction,” she said.

Mutsvangwa added: “Here in Headlands, Government constructed Muchekeranwa Dam which has changed the face of the constituency. We are rehabilitating all roads under the Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme (ERRP). Each village will have a solarised borehole so that every citizen has access to clean and safe water.”

In Chipinge, Mutsvangwa implored the people of Manicaland to vote for Zanu-PF in order for the revolutionary party to continue with the economic development being spearheaded by the Second Republic.

Addressing hundreds of Zanu-PF supporters who thronged Clearwater Primary School, Mutsvangwa said President Mnangagwa’s love for Manicaland is shown by completed projects in the province.

Mutsvangwa said Zanu-PF is targeting 900 000 votes in Manicaland.
“President Mnangagwa loves Chipinge and the province at large. Through his mantra that no place and no one should be left behind in development issues, the province has witnessed the completion of various projects during the Second Republic.

“Let us all unite and vote for Zanu-PF as the party is eyeing to garner 900 000 votes in the province. Zanu-PF is the only party which has the people at heart, and this is shown by its vision,” she said.

Mutsvangwa hailed the Second Republic for adopting the build back better concept that saw infrastructure that was damaged by the March 2019 Cyclone Idai being rehabilitated.

“On infrastructure development, we have seen major roads such as the Tanganda-Ngundu Highway, Jopa-Kopa and all roads in Chimanimani which were damaged by Cyclone Idai being rehabilitated within a short of space time using our local resources. Development will continue through Zanu-PF leadership.

“We are drilling boreholes in every village, and so far we have witnessed villagers benefiting in remote areas,” she said.

Mutsvangwa said Government has capacitated the country’s export promotion board, ZimTrade, to facilitate more exports from the country.

“The province is known for growing fresh fruits and the Second Republic has capacitated ZimTrade to help local farmers export their produce to lucrative foreign markets.

“Currently, ZimTrade is working on how they can help macadamia farmers to market their nuts at competitive prices,” said Mutsvangwa.

Zanu-PF is being represented by Lincoln Dhliwayo in Chipinge East.In Masasa, Buhera Central, Mutsvangwa said as a result of the Presidential Borehole Scheme, reprieve has been brought to the people of Buhera who previously suffered from water woes.

Mutsvangwa said the Presidential Borehole Scheme is one of the economic enablers that the ruling party has made possible for Zimbabweans.

She said together with Marovanyati Dam, the boreholes have allowed people to start economic empowerment projects that have improved their lives.

“His Excellency, President Mnangagwa has spearheaded many developments across the country with his mantra of leaving no one and no place behind. The Presidential Borehole Scheme is benefiting all,” she said.

Mutsvangwa urged the Buhera Central electorate to vote for Zanu-PF so that they can continue witnessing such successful developments in the country.

She also challenged the electorate to vote for aspiring Buhera Central candidate, Samson Matema.

“President Mnangagwa has been spearheading various developments across the country, including the construction of Marovanyati Dam which has made irrigation schemes possible within Buhera. The irrigation schemes allowed the people to start farming projects that previously would have failed due to water woes.

“We want the party to win come August 23. Our President, party and candidates will win if we unite and vote in our numbers,” said Mutsvangwa.

She further challenged party members to shun protest voting during the upcoming elections.

“Shun protest voting as over the years it has proven that it does not benefit anyone but the opposition which in turn abuses power and funds. Use your power as women to continue mobilising registered voters to vote for the revolutionary party to ensure emphatic victory,” she said.

Mutsvangwa also urged Matema to unite the people and lead them towards victory. She urged the party leadership to continue with their door-to-door campaigns.

In an interview on the sidelines of the rally, Matema said plans are underway to install solar power plants that will power irrigation pumps and drip irrigation systems in the area.

“This will help reduce water waste while also increasing crop yields. We will introduce solar powered water pumping for irrigation and other agricultural uses such as providing drinking water for livestock,” he said.
