Well-known Mzansi actor Lehasa Moloi has been publicly and candidly speaking about his struggles with depression and anxiety among other issues over the years, but since coming out of that dark space, he is determined to help others with their mental health journey.
He’s been sober for a year now and says it took extreme accountability to get to where he is today.
“I never want someone to suffer from something I’ve already overcome. I had to find someone to pull me out of that darkness. I’m really inspired to help others, especially men in this country,” he told the publication.
“I struggled with drug abuse for the longest time, alcohol abuse in the industry. I have family members who struggle with the same thing, so for me it became a labour of love to give people the freedom that I feel right now.”
Now, together with his wife Cleo, they are set to launch a podcast on YouTube in February where they’ll share their life journey and how they overcome challenges they’ve faced.
“The process of sanctification is long, we’ll be talking a lot more about that.
“We’ll be interviewing each other in the first three episodes, getting that story out as a married couple, as a couple in the industry, as parents in a special needs home, because our daughter was born with Down syndrome. So all of the love that we’ve been able to generate between us and the four of us as a family, our struggles, our ups and our downs, bringing people more freedom and more love in their lives.”
