Former Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Walter Mzembi, has come to the defense of Jameson Timba, the interim leader of the CCC.
Using his X handle, Mzembi described Timba as a likable individual with excellent organisational skills.
He suggested that these skills might be why the government is targeting him.

whom we worked with during our GNU days when he was serving as a Minister of State in the Prime Minister ‘ s office, at some point Deputy Minister of Information or something cannot kill even a fly, if anything he struck me as someone who actually needed rescue from a debilitating habit of chain smoking ..
Despite this he is ofcourse a loveable fellow with excellent organisational skills which may be the case why the Regime despite his evident vulnerability still wants to break him .
#JamesonTimba+CCC78 their further incarceration does not make the Regime any stronger but protrays it as a despotic enterprise that fights the weakest !”
Meanwhile, Timba and 78 activists were arrested on June 16 for holding a political meeting. The activists have been denied bail.
