Footage of a ZANU PF driver getting thrilled while greeting Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa has excited Zimbos online.Zimbabwean politicians are currently running campaigns for the upcoming general elections slated for 23 August 2023.The ruling ZANU PF launched its campaign on 24 June in Chipinge.
Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) held its campaign launch rally on 16 July in Gweru. This is the first general election that the CCC will contest after forming in 2022 following a court ruling that stripped Chamisa of the leadership of the main opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).
On 15 July, Nelson Chamisa surprised the public and walked along Simon Mazorodze Road in Harare after visiting Mbare. Despite the congested road, he took his entourage and decided to greet supporters one by one.
In a video circulating on social media, the streets came to a standstill as drivers honked their cars in excitement. They all stretched their hands to shake Chamisa’s. Even some in pickup trucks could not contain their excitement and whistled for the opposition leader.
The most heartwarming moment was when a ZANU PF driver stopped his branded car to greet Nelson Chamisa. The grinning driver gave Chamisa a firm handshake before raising his fists in jubilation as the CCC leader walked away.
The most beautiful moment was when @nelsonchamisa took time with these motorists for selfies and the cherry on the icing was with a @ZANUPF_Official supporter who could not control his joy before forcing self into convoy!
