Newcastle United, English Premier League club have made an offer to the relegated Burnley for goalkeeper James Trafford.
The relegated Clarets are likely to reject the proposal, which is in the region of £15m, but talks continue to take place between the two clubs.
According to renowned Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano’s X post on Newcastle United, he stated that “James Trafford, Newcastle current priority target as new goalkeeper.”
“Ramsdale and Mamardashvili are also in the list but both too expensive as things stand.”
“Talks with Burnley have started, as @CraigHope_DM reports; no agreement yet.”
Newcastle is looking foward to sign a goalkeeper this summer to compete with Nick Pope for the No 1 spot.
Aaron Ramsdale is another goalkeeper Newcastle hold in high regard, but any potential move for the Arsenal player is likely to prove too costly with Newcastle up against PSR constraints.
