A young woman has tragically become a widow just three months after getting married, following the unexpected de@th of her husband this morning.
Bwalya Kasonde, 32, from Zambia, who used to work at the Food Reserve Agency and was studying at a technical college, was on his way to the Copperbelt to attend his uncle’s funeral.
He left home early today, driving his Toyota Vitz with the registration number BAG 2972 and four passengers. Sadly, he did not know that his goodbye to his wife would be the last time he would see her.

At around 7:00 AM, Kasonde was involved in a serious road accident. The crash occurred near Golden Valley along the Great North Road in Chisamba district at 7:20 AM, resulting in five fatalities.
According to Charity Munganga, the Central Province Police Commanding Officer, the accident happened when the driver of a Sino truck with the registration number AGB 9618 was trying to overtake improperly and collided with Kasonde’s car. The truck was carrying water to supply a company that is working on the new dual carriage road.
Munganga reported that Kasonde and three passengers died at the scene, while a fourth passenger succumbed to injuries at Liteta Hospital. The driver of the truck was unharmed.
The five deceased have been taken to Liteta Hospital Mortuary, where their bodies will undergo postmortem examinations before burial.
