The quiet community of Nyazura is in mourning after the sh0cking discovery of a young couple found hanging from separate branches of a tree in their homestead.
Diana Mangenda (20) and Courage Chaza (27), residents of Dekenya Village under Chief Makoni, were found lifeless on November 12, following a dispute related to accusations of !nf!delity.
According to Manicaland Police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, the couple experienced a serious disagreement over allegations that Chaza had been unfaithful.
In a tr@gic turn of events, Mangenda took her own life by hanging herself from a tree branch in their yard, leaving behind a note expressing her despair over her husband’s !nf!delity.
Later that same day, Chaza also hanged himself, writing a note in which he declared there was no reason for him to live now that his wife was gone.
A neighbor, Itai Macheme from nearby Macheme village, stumbled upon the grim scene while heading to his field.
He quickly alerted other villagers and contacted the police, who subsequently retrieved the bodies and transported them to Rusape District Hospital.
In light of this heartbreaking incident, Chinyoka urged couples to seek professional counseling when facing marital difficulties, rather than resorting to self-harm.
He emphasized that such actions have devastating effects on children and loved ones left behind.
