Olympic runner Rebecca Cheptegei’s ex-boyfriend, Dickson Ndiema, has d!ed after allegedly setting her on fire, leading to both their inj_ries.
Ndiema reportedly sustained severe b_rns and passed away in the hospital on Monday evening, while Cheptegei succumbed to her inj_ries last Wednesday.
The incident occurred after Ndiema reportedly set Cheptegei ablaze with petrol during a dispute, resulting in her suffering burns over 75% of her body.
Both individuals were hospitalized in critical condition at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, Kenya.

Reports suggest the conflict may have been related to a land dispute involving the property on which Cheptegei built her home near the Ugandan border.
According to police, Ndiema entered Cheptegei’s home while she was at church with her children and att@cked her during an argument.
Cheptegei’s daughter, who witnessed the event, was allegedly kicked by Ndiema while trying to help her mother. Despite efforts from neighbors to extinguish the flames, they were unsuccessful.
The Ugandan Athletics Federation expressed deep sorrow over Cheptegei’s d3ath, condemning the violence and calling for justice. World Athletics president Lord Coe also m0urned the loss, highlighting Cheptegei’s talent and potential in the sport.
