A woman from Zimunya was allegedly k!lled by her sister-in-law after a disagreement over a cup of milk.
The deceased, Clara Murangwa, is said to be causing trouble for her own family from beyond the grave.
Her spirit is reportedly punishing her brother Solomon’s family, including his wife Kerina Mutongwana. The family believes Clara’s spirit is behind the recent mysterious d3aths and illnesses among them, including epileptic seizures suffered by their son, Richard.
The family was summoned to Headman Chigodora’s community court to address the situation. Kerina admitted that Clara’s spirit accused her of causing Clara’s de@th over the milk dispute.
According to the spirit, the conflict started when Clara, who was in charge of milking cows, gave Kerina less milk than she wanted.

This led to a fight, during which Kerina lost some teeth. Kerina then took Clara’s headscarf and went to her parents. Her parents were angry and used the scarf in a r!tual that led to Clara’s de@th.
The family at the court wanted Kerina to leave immediately, but Solomon refused, saying he wouldn’t send his wife away. He wanted to know what would appease Clara’s spirit and was ready to do that instead.
Kerina agreed to pay any compensation demanded by the spirit and accepted responsibility. Headman Chigodora advised that they would need to pay seven cattle to Clara’s family, another to the chief, and perform additional rituals to cleanse the home.
The case was postponed to August 31 to give the family time to arrange the required livestock and perform the necessary ritu@ls.
