Police are investigating two separate hit and run road traffic accidents that occurred leaving two pedestrians with serious inj_ries.
The first incident occurred on July 8 2024, at around 1700 hours along the Mutare-Chimanimani Road, Sakubva.
A 47-year-old man was hit by an unknown motorist, resulting in a swollen hand. The driver failed to stop and fled the scene, leaving the victim to suffer the consequences.
The victim was rushed to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital for treatment, where he received medical attention for his !njuries.
Tragically, the second incident occurred shortly after, also on July 8 2024, when a 38-year-old male pedestrian was struck by an unknown motorist.
He sustained a broken leg and swollen forehead. The driver did not stop to render assistance or provide information.
Sadly, the pedestrian succumbed to his !njuries while receiving treatment at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.
Police are urging anyone with information about the incidents to come forward and assist in the investigation.
The public is reminded to exercise caution while using the roads and to always be vigilant for pedestrians and other road users.
