In a heartfelt and candid social media post, former ZBC-TV news presenter Oscar Pambuka has openly expressed his desire to find a wife, laying out a specific and detailed list of qualities he hopes to find in his future partner.
The post has sparked a flurry of reactions and discussions, highlighting the deeply personal nature of his quest for companionship.
“Just me thinking aloud…….God I pray for a prudent wife as part of the Restoration,” Pambuka began, indicating that his plea was not just a casual wish but a fervent prayer. “Please no Mickey Mouse character God but someone who loves Oscar to the fullest and can handle my energy in all aspects.”
Pambuka’s description of his ideal wife is both extensive and highly specific. He seeks a woman who is fluent in English and well-traveled, both regionally and internationally. “This ideal candidate should be able to handle a diamond like me and not treat me like bronze,” he stated, emphasizing the value he places on mutual respect and appreciation.

His preferences extend to culinary skills, with a clear aversion to a monotonous diet. “She should know different types of meals, not Sadza Sadza Sadza,” he wrote, adding that his future wife should refrain from using cosmetics and maintain modesty in her appearance. “This woman should never leave her flesh open for all to see and lustfully meditate but should act like she does not have anything whilst she is loaded wena.”
Pambuka’s ideal partner should possess a sweet voice and maintain cleanliness at all times. He is not particularly concerned with academic achievements but values a woman who is well-read and a good cook. Virginity is not a requirement, but he is not interested in someone with extensive intimate experience. “I can go on and on with my thoughts, but a prudent wife comes from you, God,” he concluded, underscoring his belief that such a partner is a divine gift.
Pambuka’s search for a new partner comes two years after the end of his nine-year marriage to Nyasha Pambuka nee Makota. The couple’s marriage, solemnized on June 21, 2013, under the Marriages Act Chapter 5:11, faced irreconcilable differences that ultimately led to its dissolution.
Nyasha filed for divorce, citing that there were no prospects of reconciliation. In her summons, she requested a decree of divorce, maintenance for their two minor children, and custody. She revealed that she and Oscar had been separated for over a year, during which she lost love and affection for him.
