Each individual received 22.5 kg of mealie-meal, expected to last approximately three months, along with a $13 cash transfer to support their daily needs, according to sources.
The World Food Programme and UNICEF have provided substantial aid to the vulnerable, distributing food and cash.
Reports indicate that around 3,000 people have benefited from these efforts.
UNICEF social protection specialist Ms. Ruth Utete explained that the organization provides cash assistance to vulnerable community members for six months, after which the government assumes responsibility.
