The organisers of the 2024 olympics in Paris, France have dismissed the rumours that they made anti-s3x beds for the athletes.
In a press statement, a Paris Games spokesperson confirmed that the quality of the furniture was tested for its comfort for all athletes’ body types.
“The quality of the furniture has been rigorously tested to ensure it is robust, comfortable and appropriate for all the athletes who will use it”, he stated.
The basis for rumours of the designing and installation of the anti-s3x beds at the Paris olympics were inspired by the 2020 Tokyo olympics where the beds were allegedly, ‘anti-s3x beds‘.
“We know the media has had a lot of fun with this story since Tokyo 2020, but for Paris 2024 the choice of these beds for the Olympic and Paralympic Village is primarily linked to a wider ambition to ensure minimal environmental impact and a second life for all equipment”, the spokesperson further stated.
The 2024 Paris olympics have been associated with bizarre rumours of the cardboard made beds designed to carry weight of a single individual, the banning of french fries for athletes and introduction of vegan diets.
In March, Laurent Dalard, in charge of first aid and health services at Paris 2024, said around 200,000 condoms for men and 20,000 for women will be made available at the athletes’ village during the Games and for athletes to avoid unecessary forms of physical contacts amidst covid-19 fears.
