In the early hours of Thursday morning, the bustling Harare-Mutare road was the scene of a tragic accident that claimed the lives of at least two individuals according to reports.
The usually lively Mabvuku turnoff, where commuters and travelers converge daily, turned into a nightmare as a head-on collision involving three vehicles unfolded.
Among the vehicles involved were a sleek Mercedes Benz and a sturdy Toyota Hilux. According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when one of the drivers misjudged the traffic signal, leading their vehicle to veer off the road. In an instant, the lives of those involved were irrevocably changed.
The impact was devastating.
Emergency services quickly arrived on the scene, but for two of the v!ctims, it was too late. Their b0dies were carefully extracted from the wreckage and taken to a local mortuary, their identities yet to be disclosed. The scene was a flurry of activity as paramedics worked tirelessly to assist the !njured. The survivors, who bore the physical scars of the collision, were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

One of the onlookers, an elderly woman who lives near the turnoff, recounted the harrowing moments following the crash . “I heard a loud bang and rushed out to see what had happened. It was a scene of chaos. People were screaming and crying. It’s heartbreaking to see such loss.
As investigations continue, authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution, especially at busy intersections.
