In a heartbreaking event, four villagers died and two others were taken to Mutambara Mission Hospital after drinking a mixture made from the aloe vera plant.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) reported that this incident took place at Gonorenda Homestead in Marange, Mutare, on October 27, 2024, around 4 PM.

Three of the deceased have been named as Joseph Myambo, 45; Brighton Gwenzi Chibhosho, 27; and Kudakwashe Marambire, 44. The identity of the fourth victim is still unknown.
Aloe vera is commonly recognized for its many uses, especially in medicine and skincare.
It is often used as a natural laxative and is believed to help with issues related to cleaning the system.
