The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of 18-year-old Abel Ncube in connection with the tragic m_rder of his father, Dumezweni Ncube, age 49.
The vi0lent incident occurred on October 19, 2024, at their homestead in Niniva Village, Mbembesi, during what is reported to be a heated domestic dispute.
According to witnesses, Abel allegedly inflicted a single st_b w0und on his father’s left side of the chest using a spear, leading to significant blood loss.
Despite efforts to save him, Dumezweni succumbed to his inj_ries at the scene.
The police were alerted following the incident, which has since left the local community in sh0ck and mourning.
Investigators promptly responded and secured the crime scene, collecting evidence to better understand the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
Dumezweni’s body has been transported to the United Bulawayo Group of Hospitals, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of de_th.
Abel Ncube is now in custody, facing serious charges as the police continue their investigation into this devastating family tragedy.
