A shocking petrol bomb att@ck targeted the Zimbabwe Institute of Legal Studies offices, owned by Zanu PF Harare provincial chairperson Cde Godwills Masimirembwa, leaving a security guard with severe b_rns.
According to reports, the guard suffered b_rns on nearly 80% of his body and is fighting for his life at Parirenyatwa Hospital. An eight-man gang, traveling in three vehicles, launched the att@ck on Leonid Brezhnev Avenue (formerly Fife Avenue).
The ass@ilants, described as bouncers in two Toyota Fortuner vehicles and a Honda Fit, carried petrol in a container.
They brut@lly be@t the security guard, poured petrol on him, and set him ablaze. Cde Masimirembwa recounted the horrific incident, stating that the att@ckers threw a petrol bomb and fled. “Clearly, these people did not come to rob or ste@l anything.
It is something else,” he emphasised. The motive behind the att@ck remains unknown, and police investigations are underway.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed that police suspect a petrol bomb was used.
This incident occurs amidst the Government’s calls for peace, warning that anyone disrupting the prevailing peace and tranquility will face severe consequences.
