The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has reported the arrest of a 29-year-old man, Kundai Taruvinga, who allegedly impersonated a police officer at Machipisa Shopping Centre in Harare on June 8th.
According to the ZRP, Taruvinga and his two accomplices, who are still at large, pretended to be police officers and accused a vict!m of engaging in illegal dealings in foreign currency.
The trio then allegedly ass@ulted the v!ct!m before the public intervened and apprehended Taruvinga.
The suspect’s accomplices managed to escape during the commotion, and the police are now urging anyone with information that may lead to their arrest to report to the nearest police station.
The ZRP has commended the public for their bravery in intervening and apprehending Taruvinga.
The suspect is currently being held in custody pending further investigation and possible charges.

The ZRP has warned citizens to be cautious of individuals who claim to be police officers and to always verify their identities before engaging with them.
The police have also urged v!ctims of such sc@ms to report any incidents to the nearest police station or to contact the ZRP’s Crime .
