THE curtain came down on the four-day Pre Budget Seminar at the New Parliament in Mt Hampden this Saturday with the Minister of Finance and Investment Promotion, Professor Mthuli Ncube promising to rationally fund all Government departments.
Professor Ncube said he took into consideration all the input by legislators and vowed to unveil a pro-people and pro-growth national budget.
“I need to thank all legislators and cabinet ministers who graced this important symposium to give input towards coming up with a budget that speaks to the needs of the people. The upcoming budget will seek to enhance the transformation of the economy that we have been experiencing hence my pledge to support all sectors such as agriculture, mining, energy and manufacturing sectors so that we strive towards achieving our Vision 2030. The budget is envisaged to generate 44 Zimbabwe billion dollars, while expenditures will be at ZW$47 trillion,” he said.
Minister Ncube reiterated the important role the national budget is playing in delivering goals stated in the National Development Strategy 1 policy blueprint to achieve the country’s Vision 2030.
