Botswana’s new President His Excellency Advocate Duma Gideon Boko has officially announced Ndaba Gaolathe as the Vice President designate. President Boko confirmed this at the ongoing handover ceremony where the former President of Republic of Botswana Dr. Mokgweetsi Masisi has also officially handed over the Office of the President (OP) to President Duma Boko.
The former opposition leader Duma Boko was sworn in as Botswana President on Friday last in a swift transfer of power following a historical defeat for the party that had ruled the diamond-rich nation for nearly 60 years.
The UDC has won 35 seats, according to the latest tally, which means that it has an outright majority in parliament.
It has pledged to adopt a new economic strategy that creates well-paying jobs and distributes wealth that empowers all citizens.
