The La Liga giant, Real Madrid have completed the signing of young defender Lamini Fati from Leganes. The club secured the player for €100,000. The 18 year old centre back has passed his medical and signed a five-year deal.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed on his X account that Real Madrid has secured the service of young defender Lamini Fate and he will join Madrid in 2025.
” Real Madrid completed deal to sign Lamini Fati from Leganés for their Juvenil team. 18 year old centre back joins in 2025 for €100k fee,” Romano confirmed.
Fati will begin at Real Madrid C but could move to the youth team depending on his performance. He has already trained with Leganes’ first team under Borja Jimenez this season while playing in the Third Federation.
Lamini Fati’s signing come after Real Madrid as the club consider options in central defence amid inj*ry issues. Real Madrid are depleted defensively due to a wretched run of bad luck, with Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal.
Early October, the duo was sidelined for the campaign with an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, while David Alaba is still recovering after a knee operation last December and he is yet to return from his long-term layoff.
