The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed a tragic road traffic accident that occurred on 18 August 2024, at approximately 19:50 hours at the 135 kilometre peg along Chivhu-Nyazura Road, near Save Bridge.
This unfortunate incident claimed the lives of eight individuals while four others sustained !njuries.
The accident involved a Nissan Vannet N200 vehicle, which was heading to Dorowa, carrying a total of 11 passengers. The vehicle collided head-on with a Shacman truck traveling in the opposite direction.
Preliminary investigations by law enforcement indicate that the accident was triggered when the Nissan Vannet struck a grid on the bridge, causing the ball joint of the vehicle to dislodge.
