South African actress Letoya Makhene’s marriage to Lebohang Pulumo Keswa has ended in tragedy, with reports emerging that Makhene attempted to take her own life after Keswa confronted her about alleged infidelity.
According to a text message sent by Keswa to a friend, Makhene overdosed on pills in October after Keswa confronted her about allegations of an extramarital affair with a Nigerian dr_g dealer and a lesbi@n side chick.
The couple’s friend said that Makhene’s behavior had become increasingly erratic and viol3nt in the months leading up to the attempted su!cide.
The friend claimed that Makhene had scalded Keswa with bo!ling water, bludge0ned her with an ironing board, and thrown a vase at her before damaging furniture and burn!ng down the curtains of their Randfontein home.
The friend also alleged that Makhene had become involved with the dr_g dealer, who she met while she was drunk and had asked him to give her cocaine in exchange for s3x.
When Keswa confronted her about the affair, Makhene claimed that the dr_g dealer had rap3d her and threatened to press charges against him. However, Keswa was not convinced and felt that Makhene was lying.
The couple’s friend said that Keswa had tried to make the marriage work, but ultimately decided to leave Makhene after discovering the extent of her infidelity. “She said when she confronted her, Letoya said the drug dealer r*ped her and threatened to press criminal charges against him. But Lebo was not convinced,” said the friend.
Keswa expressed sadness over the end of the marriage and apologised to her children and family for the impact it may have had on them. She also wished everyone involved “nothing but the best” for their future journey.
