South African legendary football coach Pitso Mosimane has reportedly been discharged after suffering a health emergency earlier this week.
Recent reports in Arabic media suggested that Pitso was hospitalised, sparking concern and curiosity among fans and football enthusiasts. iDiski Times reported that his health situation may have been exaggerated, and the coach is now in good condition.
The initial reports, which emerged on Thursday through outlets like Al Bayan Emirates Journal and other Arabic media, indicated that the Al Wahda FC coach had experienced shortness of breath and fell ill on Tuesday. Subsequently, he was admitted to a hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE, for medical treatment. This situation prompted his South African assistant coach Maahier Davids to temporarily take charge of the team’s training.
Al Wahda FC has not issued an official statement regarding the coach’s health status. Efforts to obtain an update from Mosimane’s wife and agent, Moira Tlhagale, were also unsuccessful.
The club told the media that Pitso Mosimane’s health is stable and not a cause for significant concern. Another reliable source emphasised that the coach is in good health and indicated that the recent media reports may have overstated the severity of his condition.
As it stands, Mosimane is expected to recover in time to lead Al Wahda in their upcoming match against Ajman in the United Arab Pro League. The match is scheduled for Saturday, and the club anticipates the coach to be fit to resume his duties at the helm.
In terms of their current league standing, Al Wahda are in sixth place with nine points after six matches played. There had been previous reports suggesting that Pitso’s position at the club was uncertain due to four defeats in his first nine matches. Additionally, he had been linked with a potential move to Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs.
