In an unexpected turn of events, Prophet Uebert Angel, a Zimbabwean cleric based in the United Kingdom, has reportedly lost a high-ranking continental position merely a month after his appointment was confirmed.
In a letter seen by this publication, Ambassador Angel has been stripped of the title because his appointment did not follow due procedure.
In June of this year, Uebert Angel was named the Pan African Parliament Ambassador for Interfaith Dialogue and Humanitarian Affairs by the African Union. The announcement of his appointment was officially confirmed by Fortune Charumbira, President of the Pan African Parliament (PAP), in July. Charumbira, at that time, assured that the appointment had followed due protocols and procedure.
However, a recent communication from Ashebiri Gayo, the Acting President of PAP, contradicts this. The communication, addressed to Uebert Angel, informs him that his appointment as the PAP Ambassador for Interfaith Dialogue and Humanitarian Affairs has been revoked due to a failure to follow standard protocols and processes. This revocation is effective immediately.

Communication to Ambassador Angel
We present the communication to Ambassador Angel below:
We noted that your name was announced recently as having been appointed as an ambassador for the Pan African Parliament. Nearly all current members of PAP wondered how the appointment was done as it was not tabled in any bureau or plenary meeting stating reasons of the appointment and likely benefits to PAP or Africa in general.
The minutes of said meetings would have also indicated a proposer and seconder from amongst bureau members or honourable PAP members as standard AU approval process of such appointments that leads to diplomatic status.
Consequently; I am mandated by the current bureau and current members of PAP to advise the Prophet that the said appointment is hereby revoked. The purported ambassadorial PAP has been declared null and void with immediate effect.

At the time of writing, Prophet Uebert Angel had not confirmed receiving the letter stripping him of his ambassadorial role. The PAP had not verified the authenticity of the letter.
