SADC Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM) head by His Excellency Mr. Enock Kavindele is in South Africa observing the on going National and provincial elections.The President and his visited different schools in Johannesburg to observe the opening of the polls.
Newsreportzim.com have learnt from a statement released by SADC this Thursday, which reads:
His Excellency Mr. Enock Kavindele, Head of the SADC Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM) to the Republic of South Africa, accompanied by H.E. Mr. Elias M. Magosi, SADC Executive Secretary led the SADC team of observers to the opening and closing of some selected voting stations of the National and Provincial Elections.
H.E Mr. Kavindele and his entourage visited Parkrand Primary School in Boksburg, Johannesburg to observe the opening of the polls. Other stations visited by the Head of SEOM include Winnie Mandela Primary School in Tembisa, Tshimollo Primary School in Pretoria, Jordan High School in Emfuleni, Tent near Rietfontein Supermarket in Mogale City, Toekomsrus Community Hall in Rand West City and Ratanda Multipurpose Hall in Lesedi.
H.E Mr. Kavindele and his team rounded off the day with a visit to observe the closing procedures and counting of votes where it all started in the morning at Parkrand Primary School in Boksburg.
The SADC Electoral Observation Mission has deployed election observers to all the nine provinces of South Africa to oversee the aspects of the election process. The objective of the Mission is to assess the conduct of elections in accordance with the revised SADC Principles and Guidelines Governing Democratic Elections (2021).
