A 52-YEAR-OLD Bulawayo man who allegedly disappeared with more than US$10 000 realised from the day’s sales, on Friday appeared before magistrate Maxwell Ncube facing a theft charge.
Mkhululi Ndlovu, who is employed by Three Choir Distribution Solution Company as a salesman, was granted US$200 bail and will return to court on Mach 8 for trial.
According to court papers, on Valentine’s Day, the company’s accounts clerk Patience Ndlovu noticed that the accused had not surrendered cash from the sales amounting to US$10 000 he had made.
The company made a follow up and found out that Ndlovu had only brought US$4 399 to the cash office.
The company contacted Ndlovu on the same day and he assured it that he was going to deliver the money.
It is the State’s case that from February 15 to 17 efforts were made to contact Ndlovu, but he was unreachable.
A police report was made on February 17.
Ndlovu returned to work after four days and told his employer that he had lost the money before he was taken to the police.
The total stolen amount is US$10 190,50.
